One of the first things you notice about the HJC Si-12 helmet is how feathery light it is. In fact, it happens to be the lightest full face helmet we carry, weighing in at just under 3 lbs in a size Large. How does HJC get this helmet so light without making it entirely from carbon fiber? Well, it's their innovative shell technology that uses an advanced Super Lite Composite Weave to form the shell. This allows them to build a fully equipped racing helmet that feels as light as a feather, yet provides all the safety, features and comfort you demand. For those of you that wear, or plan to wear, a HANS® device, this helmet is pre-drilled for HANS® posts.
The Si-12 also features HJC's "ACS" Advanced Channeling Ventilation System which provides full front to back airflow to flush heat and humidity up and out of the helmet. This system consists of two small vents on the front chinbar, a lightweight top front vent made out of titanium, and two small holes at the top rear of the helmet.
Inside the helmet, HJC used advanced CAD technology to help provide superior fit and comfort. The liner is moisture-wicking and comfortable thanks to a fire resistant Comfort-Carbon material. Unlike their AR-10 and HX-10 helmets, the liner in this helmet is not removable.
The clear shield that comes standard on the Si-12 is a polycarbonate anti-fog and anti-scratch model that provides 95% UV protection. Optional R.S.T. shields are available in dark smoke, silver, and blue.
The fit and finish of HJC helmets is top notch, and the S-12 is available in either a beautiful gloss white paint or a flat rubbertone black paint. You get all this, plus a deluxe hardshell helmet storage case. Just what you'd expect from HJC, the world's #1 helmet company.
