Video overview of the Zeronine Z9-APX SA2010 helmet...
The Z9-APX helmet ($349) is the new Snell SA2010 / KA2010 rated helmet from Zeronine Racing. New for this model is a lightweight Fiberglass shell with Tri-Weave® reinforcement in critical areas. This helps make it one of the lightest helmets we carry. We put a size Large on the scale and it weighed in at a very lightweight 3.20 lbs! The helmet's shell has 4 vents in the chin-bar area, two exhaust ports on the top/rear of the helmet, and comes pre-drilled for the HANS Device.
Inside, the helmet features a kevlar chin strap and a fire retardant Nomex® liner that is fully removable and washable. The shield is an optically correct clear polycarbonate lexan material (dark smoke version available separately).
If you wear glasses or sunglasses, the Z9-APX seems to work well with them. It has a good sized eyeport on it, and the seam between the cheek pads and headliner is situated about where it needs to be for sliding the glasses back over your ears.
The Zeronine Racing Z9-APX helmet is available in either gloss white or matte flat black for $349.99. If you're looking for a lightweight Snell SA2010 rated helmet for autocross, track days, karting, or wheel-to-wheel racing, the Zeronine Z9-APX is definitely worth a look.
